I HATE WVU MORE EVERY DAY
December 21, 2007Boy, I can’t let this go. Can you blame me with this story? A double-dip stupid fans + stupid radio executive = Mr. Sunshine heart attack!!!
Finally, someone told Mountaineer fans to lighten up….it’s a god damn football team! It’s always a solid radio gag to bust the balls of your listeners. Unless the listeners are psychos backed by gutless radio execs.
A Charleston radio personality was suspended from his job for refusing to tone down his on-air excitement over former WVU head football coach Rich Rodriguez’s decision to take the head job at the University of Michigan.
Coach Kidd, a Michigan native, co-hosts the morning talk show on Electric 102.7 FM. For the past couple days, he’s dominated the show’s content with his feelings on how Rodriguez’s job change will be a boon to the Wolverines football program — much to the dismay of listeners.
After playing the Wolverines’ fight song for a fourth time this morning, Coach Kidd was yanked off the air.
“Basically, it boils down to insubordination,” said Wade Hill, the station’s program manager. “He was just taking it a little too far.”
Hill said the decision to suspend Coach Kidd came from upper-level management about 7:40 a.m. today. Hill said he’s been trying to work something out with the station’s administrators to see if he can get Coach Kidd back on the air.
Please call or write management at this station and tell them to quit!!!! It’s Bristol Broadcasting. Programming contact is garyblake@bristolbroadcasting.com or call 304-744-7020
Listeners have been complaining that Coach Kidd’s extravagant support of Rodriguez’s controversial decision is disrespectful to the state.
Considering the fragile emotions in the state this week, Hill said Coach Kidd was warned three times to change the subject away from his glee over Rodriguez’s move.
It’s a FOOTBALL TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disrespectful to the state? Huh? Pacman Jones and Chris Henry sticking around on campus wasn’t disrespectful?
WVU CONTINUES TO FEEL STING OF HUGGINS BAD KARMA
December 20, 2007Mountaineer fans loved it when the school stole Bob Huggins from poor K-State back in April.
Yet, they were up in arms this week, calling new Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez a traitor among other things. Now schools are beginning to pillage and plunder Coach Rod’s old recruiting class. What goes around, comes around.
Thursday, a star Florida RB told Morgantown no thanks.
Onterio McCalebb dumped WVU and chose Rutgers over Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Kentucky and South Florida.
WHY IS PETE ROSE COMMENTING ON ILLEGAL DRUG USE?
December 20, 2007Let’s talk cheating in baseball…time to bring on poor ole Pete Rose. Absolute nonsense. Dennis Miller with an eye on ratings had Pete on his Versus show to comment on the Mitchell Report and in particular Roger Clemens. After all, who knows a cheater better than a cheater. But in typical Pete fashion, Rose takes his new ridiculous stance…”I’m not as bad as these guys!!!!”
“I never thought anybody would make me look like an altar boy,” Rose said. “I’ve been suspended 18 years for betting on my own team to win,” he added. “I was wrong … but these guys today, if the allegations are true, they’re making a mockery of the game.”
Altar boy? Pete’s gambling was every bit as bad as anything the PED users did. Clemens can only match Rose if he lies for the next 18 years and implies that anyone who questions him is morally bankrupt.
Rose makes me laugh. His defense for the longest time had been…it’s my word against those of shady characters like Paul Janzsen and Tommy Giosa. Now I believe the Clemens source in the Mitchell Report, Brian McNamee….but isn’t a bit hypocritical for Pete to accept McNamee’s stories but tell us his shady friends aren’t believable?
Does Rose really want people to dig deeper and find out if he ever used steroids or illegal drugs? When Rose’s latest comments came down yesterday, I recalled an interview we did with his buddy Giosa in February of 2005. We were at the Daytona 500 and it just so happened Giosa works at a strip club where we were doing the show.
Should we take Giosa on his word?
And if so, does Rose have any room to ever comment on drug use?
GIOSA SAYS ROSE HAD HIS OWN DRUG ISSUES:
PETE LIKED HIS AMPHETAMINES:
SPEAKING OF CHEATING AND PERFORMANCE ENHANCING:
Rose is one of my all-time favorite talk topics. His arrogance and lying always amazed me. He constantly trumpeted the theme that he wasn’t a gambler and didn’t do the things that were clearly backed up by tons of evidence in Dowd Report.
As a resident of Vegas and a former employee of SportsFan Radio Network, I saw his degenerate gambling ways up close in the mid-90′s. And you could line up hundreds of people to tell you horrible Pete gambling stories.
UFC 79 TELE-CONFERENCE, HUGHES SOUNDS LIKE HE’S READY TO FIGHT TODAY!!
December 18, 2007This is a great inside look at what the media gets out of the fighters during the teleconference.
Matt Hughes answers questions like…
What did you learn from last St. Pierre fight? Can you stand up with St. Pierre? Do you have a pyschological advantage? How has training gone? Why the nicer attitude about St. Pierre this time around? Did you make anti-French comments last fight? Did you draw new energy from the young guys on TUF 6?
MATT HUGHES:
Chuck Liddell answers questions like…
What was your reaction to finally getting the chance at Silva? How big is this fight for your career? Have you made any changes in training? What will silence questions about your age? Are you still motivated to fight? What is your fight day schedule?
CHUCK LIDDELL:
Georges St. Pierre answers questions like…
Will there be surprises in your gameplan? How do counter Hughes ability to take opponents down? How has the loss to Serra affected you? Any chance you’re overconfident for this fight?
GEORGES ST. PIERRE:
Wanderlei Silva answers questions like…
Why was this fght put on hold for so long? Is there anything new in your game? What is Xtreme Couture training versus back in Brazil? What do you think of the UFC Light HWT division?
WANDERLEI SILVA:
MOUNTAINEER MORONS HAVE SHORT MEMORIES
December 18, 2007The whining eminating from Morgantown is hilarious. The WVU fans are livid that Rich Rodriguez bolted for Michigan. Terms like traitor, liar, lack of character, a man’s word, betrayal, etc. are being thrown around. Isn’t it odd that the “Morons” didn’t echo these sentiments back in April when we saw these headlines…
Bob Huggins Leaves Kansas State for West Virginia ..
Students angered by Huggins’ exit
WVU is getting exactly what is deserves. The school’s football and basketball programs have always had a ‘win at all costs” mentality. Payback is a bitch.
Better yet, we never heard WVU fans using the “lack of character or classless” terminology when describing scumbags like Pacman Jones and Chris Henry as they terrorized Morgantown on Rich Rod’s watch.
The biggest hypocrite is West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin, who went on a rant about how flawed the college system is.
“High-priced agents” are to blame.” writes Manchin, “[U]nfortunately, over the last two years, I have seen Rich become a victim of a college coaching system driven by high-priced agents that has turned those dreams into just another back-room business deal…I wish Rich and his family nothing but the best, but I challenge everyone in our state and across this country to start looking more closely at the system that we’ve allowed these agents to create, because in the end, it serves no one well but them.”
Why didn’t he have the same scathing remarks back in April when WVU robbed K-State of their head coach?
GOTTA LOVE NEW JERSEY
December 14, 2007The Trentonian is a sleeping giant amongst newspapers. The headline writers put the New York Post and Daily News to shame. The Clemens line doesn’t even come close to this one…On July 10, the paper ran a story about a fire at a state psychiatric hospital. The accompanying headline read, “Roasted Nuts.”
I hate looking at my home state’s news stories. Without even looking, here comes the top two stories. Everyday you shake your head, typical New Jersey.
Report: Former Newark mayor billed adult movies to city
BREAKING NEWS: Source: Woman had consensual sex with 5 troopers
