THANKS FEDOR!! HOPEFULLY MORE TOP NOTCH OPPONENTS ARE COMING IN 2008

It may be time to drop Fedor from the top of the pound-for-pound rankings if these are the type of guys he’ll be fighting.

Hopefully, M-1 can work with other promotions to get Fedor real opponents. This fight was a joke. It appears Fedor failed on two takedowns. When you watch a few times, he suckered Choi into the exact position he wanted.

Fedor is the #1 P4P. Anytime you fight a guy who is 100 pounds heavier than you are–that’s a P4P situation. HMC is not an experienced MMA fighter, but he’s a legit kickboxer and he’s dangerous and athletic. The quickness with which Fedor armbarred HMC indicates a legit win.

Yes…it was a legit win. But it was not a worthy fight to begin with. It is sad that Fedor is not fighting better opponents, but even worse is the fact that MMA executives cannot or will not make it happen. When the UFC took over pride, I was sooo pump for a possible match up between the best of the best…instead though the UFC just took Pride out of the picture all together, failing to take advantage of the huge mma fan following in Japan in the manner that they could have.

We’re lucky to fill Mandalay Bay with 19 000 people while Pride would fill their shows with 60 000 or more! The UFC lacks vision. There is such opportunity for this sport to be world wide and mainstream as any other sport.

Match up like this one only take us two steps back. Think long-term gain people! Give us Randy & Fedor type of matches somewhat consistantly and we’ll have the best sport in the world!

Hahahah….that’s priceless. You can count the Pride shows that had over 50,000 attending on one hand.

The decision to put Choi against Fedor, was made purely because Choi is a big name and they wanted to get a strong TV rating. This is a business people.

I’m going to wait to see who his next opponent is before I make any ridiculous statements about where he should be ranked.
