BILL CLINTON CALLS VANITY FAIR REPORTER A SCUMBAG…TMZ HAS BUBBA BANGING GINA GERSHON UPDATE

Gershon denies doinking Clinton. TMZ has the original story and the document asking for an apology..

Vanity Fair just published a pretty scandalous story about Prez Bill Clinton. The demand letter claims the article “outrageously insinuates that Ms. Gershon has had an inappropriate sexual relationship with President Clinton. This is absolutely false.”

The letter demands “a retraction and correction.”

Gershon’s lawyers from the bulldog firm Lavely & Singer noted that “Gershon has only been in the same room as President Clinton on three occasions,” all with many others present. The lawyers take a shot at Vanity Fair, claiming, “Rumor-mongering was substituted for fact-checking.”

CBS PULLS NICE RATINGS HAUL FOR MMA SHOW

Key Men Demos Soar in Final 21 Minutes:  4.1 in Men 18-34, 4.0 in Men 18-49, 4.3 in Men 25-54

Ratings for the final 51 minutes of CBS’s inaugural CBS ELITEXC SATURDAY NIGHT FIGHTS mixed martial arts broadcast (11:00-11:51 PM, ET/PT), which were unavailable Sunday, delivered an average audience of 6.12 million viewers, according to updated Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, May 31.

The audience peaked at 6.51 million viewers from 11:30-11:51 PM which featured the night’s main event—Kimbo Slice’s victory over James Thompson.

Among key men demographics, the broadcast peaked from 11:30-11:51 PM with a 4.1 rating in men 18-34, 4.0 rating in men 18-49 and 4.3 rating in men 25-54.

The addition of the final 51 minutes lifted ratings for the entire broadcast. CBS ELITEXC SATURDAY NIGHT FIGHTS (S) (9:00-11:51 PM) delivered a 3.0/06 with 4.85m viewers, 2.2/07 in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, 2.3/09 in adults 18-34, 3.1/09 in men 25-54, 3.0/10 in men 18-49 and 3.2/12 in men 18-34.  In the 9:00-11:00 PM time slot, CBS was first in the adults and men demographics, second in both households and viewers.

BOXING KNOWLEDGE AMONGST SOME WRITERS IS HORRIFIC

Anyone who watched that Kimbo-Thompson couldn’t walk away thinking Slice has a future in boxing. I don’t care how many times Gary Shaw says Kimbo could challenge for the heavyweight…I don’t believe. His stamina isn’t up to snuff. And who knows what his punching power would be like wearing the 8 or 10 oz. pillow gloves?

It’s a real slap in the face to suggest Kimbo would even compete against a top 10 light heavyweight. Yet the Miami Herald’s Santos Perez says Kimbo should try Wladimir Klitschko on for size..

Could Slice be the force that revives heavyweight boxing?

Name recognition alone will create a buzz among boxing enthusiasts and casual observers alike if Slice becomes a boxer. Even a segment of the young demographic base loyal to MMA might follow Slice’s departure from cage to ring.

Slice has two redeeming qualities that have been prevalent throughout boxing history but are lacking in today’s heavyweight crop: punch and personality. For all of Wladimir Klitschko’s positive attributes, American fans are not captivated by arguably the best of the active heavyweights.

Boxing experts could argue that the 6-foot-2 Slice might have trouble cutting the reach of the 6-6 Klitschko, but Slice showed his shots can fell taller opponents, such as the 6-4 Thompson.

ARE WE SURE THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE IS MORE REPUTABLE THAN ANY ASSHAT DOING AN NBA BLOG?

This is a gem. What are the odds of this trade going down?

Dwyane Wade says he keeps hearing his name mentioned in trade rumors involving the Bulls and Miami Heat. Would the Bulls give up the No. 1 draft position to the Heat in exchange for Wade and the No. 2 overall selection? Or some combination of other players and picks?

Would the Bulls make this trade? Better question…why would they even wait two seconds to respond? YES!!!!.

Looking back to 1970 and the NBA’s No. 1 picks. I could only find Magic Johnson (1979), Hakeem Olajuwon (1984), David Robinson (1987), Shaquille O’Neal (1992), Tim Duncan (1997), LeBron James (2003), Dwight Howard (2005) and Greg Oden (2007) as guys who were untouchable. That’s 8-of-38.

Knowing what all these guys turned out to be, I trade everyone one of them in the No. 1 slot for the 26 .y.o Wade and the No. 2 pick..Bob Lanier (1970), Austin Carr (1971), LaRue Martin (1972), Doug Collins (1973), Bill Walton (1974), David Thompson (1975), John Lucas (1976), Kent Benson (1977), Mychal Thompson (1978), Joe Barry Carroll (1980), Mark Aguirre (1981), James Worthy (1982), Ralph Sampson (1983), Patrick Ewing (1985), Brad Daugherty (1986), Danny Manning (1988), Pervis Ellison (1989), Derrick Coleman (1990), Larry Johnson (1991), Webber (1993), Glenn Robinson (1994), Joe Smith (1995), Allen Iverson (1996), Michael Olowokandi (1998), Elton Brand (1999), Kenyon Martin (2000), Kwame Brown (2001), Yao (2002), Andrew Bogut (2004) and Andrea Bargnani (2006).
